Tuttavia, l'assenza dalle telecamere ha portato a voci sulla sua salute, con molti utenti sulla piattaforma X di Elon Musk che suggerivano che Trump potrebbe essere morto e che la Casa Bianca lo sta insabbiando.
L'hashtag "#trumpdead" è diventato popolare sulla piattaforma martedì, ma la Casa Bianca è rimasta in silenzio sulla questione. Trump, d'altra parte, ha liquidato queste voci come "fake news".
La salute di Trump è stata un argomento di interesse negli ultimi anni. Despite these health concerns, both the White House physician, Sean Conley, and presidential physician Sean Barbabella, have declared Trump to be in excellent health. Conley made this statement after Trump's physical exam in 2019, while Barbabella's declaration was based on a letter released by the White House in 2020.
Trump's good health is a point he frequently boasts about. He has been heard playing music in the Rose Garden and seen heading to play golf on multiple occasions during his time in office. On three of the days he did not have any public events last week, he was also spotted golfing.
The health of US presidents is under close scrutiny, with the White House seeing its two oldest ever occupants since 2017. Trump began his second term in office in January, at the age of 74, while Joe Biden, who was 82 when he left office in January, has been a key issue in the 2024 election. Biden was forced to drop his campaign for a second term after a disastrous debate performance against Trump.
In a bid to counter the speculation, the administration posted an image depicting Trump as Superman on its official Twitter account. The image showed Trump with a cape and the words "Don't Blink. I'm Still Here." written across it.
As the speculation continues, Trump is expected to address the matter in his press conference at the White House on Tuesday.
