Studenti internazionali e giovani della diaspora si incontrano al campo di Istanbul attraverso l'Unione YTB
In the heart of Istanbul, the Marmaracık Youth Camp hosted an extraordinary gathering of young people from 58 countries. The event, a collaboration between the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aimed to unite young people of different languages, religions, and backgrounds around a common goal: a fairer world.
Abdulhadi Turus, President of the YTB, met with the youth at the camp, emphasizing the importance of their role in addressing global issues, particularly the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. He stressed that the scene at the camp, with its diversity and unity, was a powerful response to a world filled with chaos, wars, racism, and ideologies that do not accept differences.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in various activities, from sports and culture to art. These activities, according to Turus, were instrumental in fostering a sense of solidarity and brotherhood among the youth.
The program also included visits to historical sites such as Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern, and a Bosporus tour. Turus noted that these experiences imprinted the history, depth, and beauty of Turkish civilization onto the participants' souls.
In a poignant moment, Turus spoke out against the ongoing genocide in Gaza, expressing his dismay at the killing of innocent lives, including babies, simply for being Muslim. He vowed to stand against this evil and believed that the participants' resistance would be the most important beginning of goodness in the world.
Turus also highlighted the significance of the Turkish language as a language of peace and culture. He noted that it was through their shared language that young people from around the globe came together at the event.
As the camp came to a close, Turus expressed his hope that the participants would return to their countries as advocates for the ideal of a fairer world. He believed that they would not only explain Turkey's positions but also increase goodness and say 'stop' to evil.
The camp, in Turus's words, was not just an event but a meeting point that carried traces of civilization. It was, indeed, a testament to the power of unity and the potential of young people to make a difference in the world.
