UAE-Team Emirates XRG Dominates 14th Stage of Vuelta 2025

Marc Soler of the UAE-Team Emirates XRG team has won the 14th stage of Vuelta 2025, held on Saturday, September 6, in Lagos de Somiedo, Asturias. The stage, between Avilés and La Farrapona, was challenging, but Soler's determination and the team's aggressive riding style paid off.

Soler's victory was a solo ride, with a 39-second advantage over the second-place finisher, Jonas Vingegaard. Vingegaard, the current race leader, now has a 48-second advantage over João Almeida in the overall standings.

The UAE-Team Emirates XRG team has been dominant in Vuelta 2025, winning half of the stages (7 out of 14). Jay Vine, Juan Ayuso, Joao Almeida, and now Marc Soler have each claimed a stage victory for the team.

The 14th stage saw intense competition, with Soler leading the group of favorites by 3'30 at the foot of the final climb. Jai Hindley (Red-Bull Bora hansgrohe) initiated a late-stage attack, but it was Soler who ultimately crossed the finish line first.

Despite not faltering the day before on the Angliru, Vingegaard was unable to dislodge his main rival, João Almeida, during the 14th stage. Almeida lost two small seconds in the bonus game, finishing 3rd behind Vingegaard. Despite the setback, Almeida was unable to regain time on Vingegaard during the final kilometer.

The UAE Team Emirates-XRG's strategy in Vuelta 2025 has been to pursue stage wins and put pressure on Vingegaard's rivals, particularly Almeida, who has struggled without sufficient team support on the toughest climbs. Soler's victory in the 14th stage is a testament to this strategy.

Jai Hindley's 14th stage performance allowed him to gain ground on the leaders, but Vingegaard managed to maintain his lead after the stage. The main rival of Vingegaard at the Vuelta 2025 remains João Almeida.

With Soler's victory, the UAE-Team Emirates XRG team has produced four stage winners in Vuelta 2025. Soler joins Vine, Ayuso, Almeida, and fellow teammate Tadej Pogačar, who won the 1st stage, in the team's impressive list of stage winners.

As Vuelta 2025 continues, the competition remains intense, with Vingegaard and Almeida battling it out for the overall lead. The UAE-Team Emirates XRG team will undoubtedly continue to push the pace, aiming for more stage wins and putting pressure on their rivals.
