Despite the positive reception of the debate, the current US President, Donald Trump, is believed to be headed for defeat. According to Lambsdorff, Trump only has a chance to turn things around in the debates. However, if he has no more debates, he has already lost, as stated by both Lambsdorff and Trittin.

The crucial states are not favourable to Trump, with the FDP politician assessing that he is far behind in all of them. If Biden wins Florida, a key swing state whose electoral votes are crucial for securing a presidential victory due to its significant number of electoral votes and its competitive political landscape, Trump's chances are gone, as stated by Trittin on two separate occasions.

Johann Wadephul, deputy chairman of the Union faction, also echoed this sentiment, stating that Trump's chances are looking very bad and the trend is in favor of Joe Biden.

Trittin stated that the debate was a win for American democracy, but it hasn't changed the outcome. The Green Party's foreign policy expert sees the remaining TV debates as Trump's last chance to make a comeback.

Joe Biden is currently supported primarily by the Democratic Party in the USA, with some prominent family members of other candidates explicitly backing him. The debate between Harris and Pence did not change the outcome of the election, according to Trittin.

In conclusion, while the debate between Pence and Harris was a positive development for political culture, Trump's chances of re-election appear to be slim, particularly if he fails to win Florida in the upcoming election.
