Several airports in the region have been closed, and dozens of flights have been cancelled due to the storm. The typhoon has also affected the Chinese Hainan island, where strong winds and rain have uprooted trees and damaged many buildings. Over 100,000 people in Hainan have been affected by the typhoon, with no immediate reports of deaths.

Chinese authorities have taken the responsibility for the evacuation of more than 20,000 people on Hainan Island before Typhoon "Kajiki" reached the Vietnamese coast. In the city of Sanya, schools, offices, and public transport were temporarily closed to ensure safety.

Thailand is also preparing for the tropical storm, with heavy rain expected in 35 provinces, including the north, northeast, east, and south. Goods traffic for the crossing over the strait between Haikou on Hainan and Xuwen on the mainland has been affected.

In potentially dangerous areas on Hainan, authorities had already evacuated more than 20,000 people the day before. Hundreds of thousands of residents are being evacuated as a precaution. According to Chinese state television, 5,000 trucks are waiting to assist with rescue operations.

Over 16,500 soldiers and more than 100,000 relief workers are on standby for rescue operations in Vietnam. The capital Bangkok must prepare for flooding, it was reported. In several coastal towns, strong gusts and rain have lashed the streets.

Meteorologists expect "Kajiki" to weaken as it moves over Laos, but heavy rainfall and flooding are still expected until Wednesday. The storm could make landfall on Monday with wind speeds of up to 166 kilometers per hour. Typhoon "Kajiki" is heading towards Vietnam.
