Incidente mortale al parco ATV di Indian Mountain: due morti e diversi minori feriti
Il 30 agosto 2021, si è verificato un grave incidente con ATV al Indian Mountain ATV Park di Piedmont, Alabama. L'incidente ha coinvolto un totale di 11 persone, con nove occupanti in un ATV e due in un altro.
Purtroppo, la tragedia ha causato la morte di due adulti di Rome, Georgia. Valentino Perez, di 6 anni, e Jordan Kelley, di 22 anni, erano le due persone decedute. Una donna adulta è deceduta in seguito alle sue ferite, mentre un uomo adulto è morto sul colpo. Non sono state rilasciate identità a causa della sensibilità della situazione.
Seven children were injured in the accident, with ages ranging from 1 to 12. Four of the injured children were taken to Atrium-Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, for immediate treatment. The remaining three children and the surviving adults were rushed to trauma centers in Birmingham.
Before the accident, Sheriff Shaver and Director Rogers had emphasized the importance of operating ATVs safely and responsibly, always wearing a restraint system, and never exceeding the number of passengers an ATV is designed for. Coroner McDonald found incidents involving children particularly difficult and emphasized the gravity of such incidents.
The investigation of the accident is being conducted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Cherokee County Coroner's Office. The press release urged everyone to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them when operating ATVs.
