Turismo flowerente in M con valutazioni positive a meta percorso - Il turismo di Martyville porta risultati incoraggianti a medio termine
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, regione nota per la sua costa del Mar Baltico, sta vivendo una tendenza positiva nel suo settore turistico, secondo un'indagine condotta dall'Ufficio Statistico di Stato di Schwerin e dall'Associazione Turistica della Regione.
L'indagine, che ha coinvolto circa 250 imprese turistiche, tra cui fornitori di alloggio, gastronomia, offerte di svago ed esperienze, informazioni turistiche e amministrazioni termali, ha rivelato che il 45% di queste imprese era soddisfatto o molto soddisfatto delle proprie prestazioni nel primo semestre del 2024 rispetto all'anno precedente.
Despite some complaints, mainly coming from the catering industry, the tourism industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is performing better than the national average. The region registered approximately 3.5 million guest arrivals in the first half of the year, a 2.6% increase from the previous year, and the number of overnight stays was reported at 13.2 million, up 0.9% from the previous year.
Tourism is one of the key economic pillars of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, employing around 120,000 people and generating annual turnover of approximately seven billion euros. The industry is under the supervision of the state tourism association in Schwerin, which also announced the higher growth rates for tourism in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
A study presented in 2023 revealed that the number of guest nights in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has increased from 10 million at the beginning of the 1990s to over 33 million today, more than tripling. This growth is a testament to the resilience of the tourism industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which continues to move forward, albeit slowly, following the COVID-19 downturn.
Interestingly, the tourism industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is strongly seasonal and focused mainly on the summer. However, even in the main season, only 53% of businesses reported being satisfied or very satisfied with the progress, despite fewer guests and lower turnover and profits.
Despite these challenges, the tourism industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern remains a significant focus area for the region. The Baltic Sea Coast, with its picturesque landscapes and vibrant towns, continues to attract visitors from around the world. As the region continues to recover from the COVID-19 downturn, it is expected that tourism will play an even more crucial role in the economy of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
