Il senatore per i trasporti sostiene che aumentare l'affidabilità degli autobus e dei treni a Berlino richiederà del tempo.
L'Autorità dei trasporti di Berlino (BVG) sta facendo progressi nei suoi sforzi per migliorare la affidabilità dei suoi servizi, secondo la senatrice Ute Bonde. Tuttavia, la senatrice si aspetta che ci vorranno almeno altri uno o due anni per raggiungere l'obiettivo della BVG del 99% di affidabilità per i servizi U-Bahn, bus e tram.
I miglioramenti in corso della BVG includono l'introduzione di nuovi treni U-Bahn, che entreranno in servizio regolare dopo l'estate. A partire dall'autunno del 2026, la BVG pianifica di iniziare le operazioni regolari con i nuovi treni U-Bahn a grande profilo (Baureihe J) sulle linee U5, U6, U7, U8 e U9, consegnando un totale di 346 vagoni. I modelli più vecchi saranno messi fuori servizio entro i primi anni '30.
Despite these efforts, the current U-Bahn reliability of the BVG stands at 93.6 percent, falling short of the BVG's target of 99 percent, and lower than the reliability of buses (99 percent) and trams (97.3 percent). Senator Bonde acknowledges that the BVG is currently not meeting its own standards, particularly in U-Bahn traffic.
The senator continues to express confidence in the BVG's "Stability before Growth" strategy, announced at the beginning of the year. She stated that the BVG is on the right track with this approach, which prioritises stability and reliability over rapid expansion.
The correction of past mistakes by the BVG is a significant and ongoing process, taking significant time to complete. The training of U-Bahn drivers is an essential part of this process, leading to a temporary shortage of staff.
Senator Bonde remains optimistic, expressing that significant improvements have already been made by the BVG. She expects that the BVG's vehicles will only reach high reliability in the medium term. The senator looks forward to the continued progress and improvement of Berlin's public transport services.
