Maruti Suzuki's latest offering, the Fronx, has made a significant impact in the automotive market. The subcompact SUV reached a production milestone of 5 lakh units in just 28 months, showcasing its popularity and demand.
The first 1 lakh units of Fronx were produced in December 2023, marking the beginning of its successful journey. The 2 lakh milestone was reached in June 2024, followed by the 3 lakh milestone in November of the same year. The 4 lakh milestone was achieved in February 2025, and the 5 lakh figure was reached less than six months later.
Interestingly, the Fronx took less time to reach the 5 lakh production milestone than the Grand Vitara took to reach 3 lakh sales. This rapid growth has made the Fronx one of the fastest-growing models in Maruti Suzuki's lineup.
Exporting the Fronx has been a key part of its success. Maruti Suzuki started exporting the Fronx in 2023, and by July 2025, over one million units had been shipped to markets including Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The Fronx is also being shipped to markets such as Japan, Latin America, Mexico, the Middle East, and Africa.
The Fronx offers two powertrain options: a 1.2-litre petrol engine (with optional CNG kit) and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Key features of the Fronx include a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Head-Up Display (HUD), a 360-degree camera, and a wireless charger.
The Fronx competes in the subcompact SUV segment with models such as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Skoda Kylaq.
As the Fronx continues to make its mark in the automotive industry, it is clear that Maruti Suzuki has another successful model on its hands. With its rapid growth and popular features, the Fronx is sure to continue its upward trajectory in the coming years.
