In un sollievo per la comunità del poker e la sua famiglia, Yuto Moriyasu, un giocatore di poker giapponese di 27 anni, è stato trovato sano e salvo a Las Vegas dopo essere scomparso il 2 luglio 2025. Moriyasu era volato in città alla fine di maggio per partecipare al Main Event delle World Series of Poker (WSOP) ma non si è presentato al torneo[1].
La sua scomparsa è stata segnalata il 3 luglio, quando Nobuaki Sasaki, un amico di Moriyasu, ha rivelato che la loro comunicazione si era improvvisamente interrotta quel giorno. Al ritorno nel loro Airbnb più tardi quello stesso giorno, Sasaki ha trovato la loro auto condivisa ancora nel vialetto e gli effetti personali di Moriyasu in soggiorno[2].
La consistente quantità di contanti per l'iscrizione di $10,000 al Main Event era ancora presente, ma il portafoglio, il telefono e la carta d'identità di Moriyasu sono stati trovati in soggiorno, mentre il suo portafoglio statunitense e il passaporto giapponese erano scomparsi[2]. Ciò ha portato Sasaki a credere che Moriyasu potesse essere andato a giocare d'azzardo e aver perso tutti i suoi soldi[3].
Sasaki ha anche espresso preoccupazione per la sicurezza di Moriyasu, poiché non va mai da nessuna parte senza il suo cellulare per le indicazioni e le comunicazioni[4]. Il tweet della famiglia ha ulteriormente sottolineato queste preoccupazioni, affermando: "Siamo estremamente preoccupati per la sicurezza di Yuto. Non è mai stato irraggiungibile per così tanto tempo".

Reports confirm that Yuto Moriyasu was found safe on July 10, 2025[5]. However, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has refused to release further details about Moriyasu's current whereabouts or condition, stating only that he has been found safe[2][5].
While the circumstances of Moriyasu's disappearance and recovery remain unclear, his safe recovery has brought relief to his family, friends, and the poker community. The whereabouts of his $10,000 Main Event buy-in, however, remain unknown.
