Despite an 8% drop in tourists this year, Hornbuckle emphasized that the fundamentals of Las Vegas are strong. However, he acknowledged that high-end properties such as Bellagio, Aria, and Cosmopolitan have seen some softness compared to the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Contrarily, the drop off is at the lower-end, value-oriented properties like Excalibur or Luxor.

MGM Resorts International is not immune to the industry-wide challenges. The bankruptcy of Spirit Airlines has resulted in a decrease of nearly 400,000 seats in air travel, potentially impacting tourist numbers. However, the company is making strides to adapt and thrive.

One such initiative is the price revision at the Las Vegas hosts the New York-New York and Excalibur resorts. MGM Resorts International announced this move to improve value for consumers, with tonight's room rates at these resorts starting at just $85, including resort fee, according to Hornbuckle.

Group bookings are also improving for MGM Resorts International. This is likely due to the strong fall event and convention season, with the Crawford-Canelo fight, Las Vegas Raiders' NFL games, and Paul McCartney's October concert being highlighted.

MGM Resorts International's digital businesses are also growing. BetMGM, the company's sports betting platform, has seen a $400 million turnaround in a year, boosted by marketing and product improvements.

The company's international operations are also thriving. MGM Resorts International's Macau operations are rebounding with a redesigned casino floor and 25 million annual visitors. Similarly, the company's operations in Japan are experiencing growth.

New partnerships have been established, with MGM Resorts International now accepting Marriott Bonvoy points at its resorts. This move is expected to attract more visitors and boost tourism further.

Despite the claims of overcharging in Las Vegas, Hornbuckle reiterated his belief that these claims are not valid. He also mentioned that MGM Resorts International does not endorse prediction markets under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

In conclusion, while Las Vegas and MGM Resorts International are facing challenges, they are adapting and finding ways to thrive. Whether it's through price revisions, new partnerships, or a strong event lineup, the city and the company are positioning themselves for a bright future.
