I proprietari di supercar furiosi trovano i loro veicoli scomparsi dopo che un rivenditore di auto di celebrità ha incontrato un collasso finanziario, gettando i veicoli di lusso nell'incertezza.
In un'inaspettata piega degli eventi, la concessionaria di veicoli di lusso GVE London, con sede a Uxbridge, nell'ovest di Londra, ha presentato un Avviso di Intenzione di Nominare Amministratori (NOI) presso la Corte d'Appello alla fine di agosto del 2025.
Il NOI è stato presentato da David Rai, direttore di GVE London, a causa di un "ingente frode" scoperta all'interno dell'azienda. Questo passo arriva mentre la concessionaria è nota per la sua forte rete di influencer e clienti VIP, e stocks alcuni dei veicoli più lussuosi al mondo, tra cui supercar ad alta velocità del valore di fino a £1 milione.
Despite the filing, GVE London remains open and trading. Metropolitan Police had officers at the scene today, but no incidents were reported while they were there. The dealership is using this opportunity to financially restructure, invest in technology, and develop the showroom in west London as part of a 'bold, five-year strategy'.
The NOI is not an administration, but a process to address the fraud and safeguard the assets of the company. It also allows negotiations with prospective investors. In a recent post on Instagram, David Rai stated that the NOI marks the beginning of a 'stronger, more innovative' chapter for the company.
Several customers have been affected by the situation. One customer, a finance worker, sold his Ferrari California T to GVE London for £72,000 but is still owed £66,000 despite being promised the money within 14 days. Another customer is owed £120,000. Enraged customers have turned up at the dealership to try and reverse their sales, fearing they could lose thousands of pounds.
A retired engineer from the Midlands had to scramble to west London to collect his £240,000 Lamborghini Huracán from GVE London before it was sold. The dealership is also known for pocketing the difference of profits made on any eye-watering sales.
In an attempt to reassure customers, Mr Rai stated that their cars are safe at the dealership. He also addressed the confusion about the NOI, stating that it is a process to safeguard the assets of the company and to allow negotiations with prospective investors.
A red DAF truck was seen outside GVE London today carrying a black Ferrari vehicle. The dealership's current situation has raised concerns among its customers and the industry, but Mr Rai remains optimistic about the future, aiming to 'completely reimagine how people buy and sell supercars'.
