Victor Boniface Si Unisce a Werder Bremen in Circostanze Impreviste
Victor Boniface, l'attaccante che ha indossato la maglia numero 22 a Leverkusen, associata all'anno della morte di sua madre, si è unito al club della Bundesliga Werder Bremen in prestito per un anno. Il trasferimento, avvenuto il 1° settembre 2025, è seguito al licenziamento dell'allenatore Erik ten Hag e a un esame medico fallito ad AC Milan.
Il 25enne internazionale nigeriano aveva inizialmente pianificato di trasferirsi ad AC Milan, ma l'esame medico non è andato come previsto. Di fronte all'incertezza, Boniface ha deciso di rimanere in Germania e unirsi invece a Werder Bremen.
Il principale obiettivo di Boniface nel suo nuovo club è mantenere la sua forma fisica, un testimone della sua dedizione e professionalità. Lo ha reso chiaro durante la sua presentazione, dichiarando che non avrebbe parlato se il suo corpo non fosse stato al 100%.
Despite his lack of knowledge about his new sporting home, Boniface is eager to make an impact. He interrupted a live-streamed online game to complete the medical check and contract signing at Werder Bremen.
Boniface's first potential test with Werder Bremen will be against Borussia Mönchengladbach after the international break. The striker's debut at the Weser Stadium ended in a 2:2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, a team he scored 22 Bundesliga goals for in the past two seasons.
Interestingly, Boniface's jersey number was doubled at Werder Bremen. The number 22, currently worn by the injured center-back Julian Malatini, will be worn by another player, Victor Boniface, who will don the number 44.
Boniface's loan to Werder Bremen lasts until the end of the season, with no purchase option agreed upon by either club. As for his future beyond July 2026, Boniface remained tight-lipped, only mentioning that "anything can happen" in football.
At his presentation, Boniface received a pair of socks from a journalist, a small gesture that symbolised the warm welcome he received at his new club. The striker, who played his first game at the Weser Stadium in a 2:2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, is ready to contribute to Werder Bremen's upcoming matches.
